We pay for every account we test, with our own money. We test each platform for 30 to 60 days before publishing. Affiliate commissions never influence a score. And we publicly document our six-category scoring formula so anyone can check our math.

We create a paid account and use the platform actively for 30 to 60 days. The first week tells you almost nothing — a platform feels great on day one and shows its real character around day forty. The reviewer scores the platform 1 to 10 in each of the six categories. We then apply the fixed weights and produce a weighted average, shown as a decimal out of 10 at the top of every review. The number is calculated from the formula — never negotiated, never adjusted after the fact.

Most other sites either rank by commission rate or aggregate user ratings without testing the platform themselves. Our score reflects 30 to 60 days of paid, hands-on testing against a fixed formula. If a platform scores lower with us than on a partner-driven list, that gap is the methodology working as designed.

Every review is revisited at least quarterly. Major platform changes (new features, pricing shifts, policy updates, security incidents) trigger an immediate update regardless of schedule. The Last Updated date at the top of every review reflects the most recent substantive edit.

Once a year, the top 10 platforms in each category get a full retest with fresh paid accounts. Quarterly check-ins catch obvious changes; the annual retest catches the slow drift that quarterly reviews miss.

No. The score comes from the six-category formula, and the editorial team has no view into commission rates while writing or editing. A platform that pays us nothing and one that pays premium rates are judged identically. If a platform asks us to soften criticism in exchange for a better affiliate rate, the answer is no.

Affiliate commissions when readers sign up for some platforms through our links. That revenue keeps the site free for readers and pays for the accounts we test. It does not move a single score.

Some are. Every affiliate link uses rel="nofollow sponsored" attributes per FTC guidance. Posts with affiliate links carry a disclosure in the first 200 words or via the site-wide notice in the footer. You can identify an affiliate link before you click it.

No. We buy our own accounts at full price every time. Free press access would mean a platform could hand us a nicer experience than a normal user gets — that defeats the entire point of the review.

Yes. Platforms that have asked us to remove or soften criticism in exchange for affiliate access have been declined. Platforms with a documented record of violating user privacy or payment integrity do not join our affiliate roster regardless of the commission rate.

Safety varies. We score Privacy & Safety as one of three 20%-weighted categories and call out specific risks — known data breaches, weak ID verification, offshore payment processors with poor chargeback handling. A documented breach in the past 24 months costs at least 2 points and is disclosed in the review.

It depends on the platform. Most reputable platforms hide your email, full name, and payment details from creators by default — but the data they collect, retain, and share varies a lot. We use standard, anonymised analytics to understand which reviews and guides are useful. We do not sell personal data and we do not run ad-network tracking pixels. The full breakdown is in our Privacy Policy.

Yes. Every outbound link goes to the platform's own domain — we do not route through redirect shorteners that could be hijacked. Affiliate links are tagged with rel="nofollow sponsored" and add a tracking parameter for attribution; that is the only modification.

Corrections within 48 hours. Editorial questions within a few business days. Partnership and commercial inquiries are handled by a different person on a separate inbox — the reviewers who score platforms have no role in commercial decisions, and we keep it that way on purpose.
